Lake Garda is becoming increasingly blue, in particular the Lombard shore, which in 2023 was awarded three Blue Flags, a particularly coveted recognition as it certifies the quality of the water and the bathing possibilities, above all for the benefit of the tourism sector.
Last year only Gardone Riviera (Blue Flag since 2011 without stopping) was awarded, this year Toscolano Maderno and Sirmione will be added.
A splendid result that rewards the efforts made to protect the environment and makes the tourist offer on this side of Lake Garda of the highest quality.
In fact, we remind you that the Blue Flag certifies not only bathing, but also the excellent condition of the waters, conferred by very strict criteria and continuous and repeated checks throughout the year.
For the purposes of the evaluation, the quality of the bathing water is considered a mandatory criterion, only those localities whose waters have proved to be excellent can present their candidacy.
Other criteria considered also include: wastewater treatment, waste management, vehicular traffic regulation, safety and beach services.
Due to the drought, in recent months Garda has often been on the front pages of the newspapers, fortunately the heavy rains of these days bode well. With this great novelty of the Vele Blu 2023 we are back to talking about the lake, despite the difficult months that have just passed.
Isola dei Conigli, cited as an example of the situation of water scarcity during the winter months, could be reached on foot from the bank of the Manerba for weeks precisely because of the very low water level of the lake.
The San Giorgio Resort is located in Toscolano Maderno and is in an ideal position to welcome its guests in grand style, not only for the splendid structure which includes 13 apartments, a park and a heated swimming pool, but also for the general setting of this area , ideal for Spend your holidays in contact with nature.
Sirmione and Toscolano-Maderno are new entries in the Blue Flag classification, demonstrating that on this side of Lake Garda great importance is attached to respect for nature, the quality of the tourist offer and environmental issues such as energy saving and some waste.
It is nice for tourists to be sure of spending a sustainable holiday in a well-kept and extremely beautiful environment, where the health of the lake, flora and fauna always comes first.
